Why are accuracy and resolution not interchangeable?

Resolution describes the smallest detectable or reportable change, while accuracy describes closeness to the true value under stated conditions. A sensor can have fine resolution and poor accuracy if calibration, drift, or noise dominate.

How should sensor drift be compared?

Drift needs a time basis and condition, such as ppm per year, percent full-scale per degree Celsius, or offset change after aging. Without the basis, the value should remain visible but marked for review.

What conditions matter for sensor specs?

Preserve measurement range, temperature, humidity, supply voltage, sampling rate, bandwidth, calibration state, mounting, and whether the value is typical, maximum, or guaranteed.
