Why should absolute maximum ratings stay separate from operating conditions?

Absolute maximum ratings describe stress limits that should not be used as normal design targets. Recommended operating conditions describe where the product is intended to function. Mixing them can make a part look compatible when it is not.

How should supply voltage ranges be compared?

Compare the overlap of the recommended operating range first, then check absolute maximum ratings, transient limits, tolerance, startup behavior, and any load or temperature conditions tied to the range.

What makes current draw hard to compare?

Current can depend on mode, frequency, load, supply voltage, temperature, duty cycle, and whether the value is typical or maximum. The comparison should preserve the operating mode and value type.
